Books!

After relying on libraries for years, and also being a bit of a bibliophile, I’ve decided to buy all of the books. All of my favourite books (a lot of them are back in Lincolnshire, I’ll hold out with the majority of them and wait to get them over to Norwich) and also I’ll start buying books I simply like the sound of, or have been recommended. Even if it’s just a couple of books with every monthly payday - I’d like to build up my own little library.

So, with the £20 Amazon gift voucher Martin’s dad and stepmum got me, I ordered these beauties:

I really loved the blurb for ‘The Book Thief’, and I’m sure I’ve heard plenty of good things about it. I’ve not read it before, and I’m really looking forward to doing so. ‘The Marriage Plot’ is also a book that sounds like just my cup of tea, and I really loved Eugenides’ novel ‘The Virgin Suicides’, so thought I’d give this a try. I’ve already read ‘The Bell Jar’ multiple times; I adore Sylvia Plath. I left my copy in Lincolnshire, and this is one book that I want back in my possession as soon as possible. Finally, ‘Girl, Interrupted’ - I’ve seen the film a few times and I’ve been meaning to read the book for ages. Interesting link between two of the books - apparently, Susanna Kaysen and Sylvia Plath both stayed at the same mental hospital.

So yes, I’m super excited about having more books in my life. I love the idea of e-readers but I just love the feel of holding a book in my hands, turning the pages, the smell… yep, definitely a bibliophile.

Tyrion, my hero. <3

One of my friends just commented on a photo of me on Facebook and compared me to Sansa Stark. One of the BEST COMPLIMENTS EVAR.

I feel vaguely attractive without makeup today. PROGRESS!
